ACEH UTARA – The Regional House of Representatives of Aceh Utara (DPRK Aceh Utara) held a special plenary session to commemorate the 800th Anniversary of Samudera Pasai. The event, which took place at the DPRK Aceh Utara Plenary Hall in Lhoksukon on Sunday (September 6, 2026), was part of a series of activities marking the anniversary of the historic Islamic kingdom, observed annually on September 7.
Chairman of DPRK Aceh Utara, Arafat, S.E., M.M., said the special plenary session was a tribute to the historical heritage and civilization of Samudera Pasai, which played a significant role in the spread and development of Islam throughout the Indonesian archipelago.
“Alhamdulillah, we have successfully concluded the special plenary session of DPRK Aceh Utara held in commemoration of the 800th Anniversary of the Birth of Samudera Pasai,” Arafat said after presiding over the session.
He expressed his appreciation to all parties who participated in and supported the event. According to him, the spirit of unity and cooperation is essential in preserving and safeguarding the historical values inherited from the Samudera Pasai Kingdom.
On behalf of the leadership and all members of DPRK Aceh Utara, Arafat also extended his gratitude to the invited guests and distinguished attendees who took part in the special plenary session.
“With the recitation of Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin, we hereby officially close the special plenary session of DPRK Aceh Utara,” he stated.
The 800th Anniversary of Samudera Pasai serves as an important moment to reflect on the long history of the kingdom, which is recognized as one of the earliest centers of Islamic civilization in Southeast Asia. Various activities have been organized to commemorate the occasion and to strengthen public awareness of Aceh Utara’s rich historical heritage.
